Hi everyone
I went for training yesterday morning (for a new
system that we’ll be working on here at work). The trainer took about 2 hours
to go through the theory of the 1st section, and it then took me 20
minutes to complete the exercise.
This made me think of the process of preparation.
The hours of research, documenting, implementing,
meetings, decisions, testing, etc. – so much time and effort resulted in just
20 minutes of work :o)
People will often look at the end product, at the
manifestation, at the public display, at the performance, etc. – we see the
driver winning the race, the soccer team winning the cup, the boxer winning the
world title, the company outperforming its competitors, the graduate receiving
their degree … but in all these instances, and many others, we fail to see the
process of preparation which led to that point.
We don’t see the hours that were put in, the
dedication/commitment, the finances spent, the sacrifices made – in order to
reach that point.
