(Continued)
… are we doing this for “self”. Now that might not be
our intention, I know this. But when things occur as mentioned in the examples
given, what goes through our hearts? Do we grumble or complain, do we walk away
feeling as though they should’ve said something about me as well, do we feel a
bit down or dejected because we never got acknowledged as well
(now I know as human beings this is something that
comes naturally – it pops up almost instantly because of our fleshly nature)
But when those thoughts and feelings pop up, we must
be reminded and ask ourselves if we’re doing this for ourselves, for own
fulfillment and satisfaction, or if we truly, in our “heart of hearts”, doing
this for God?
We must examine if we’re glad when others praise or
acknowledge someone for doing something we’re also called to do: are we glad
when God works through and uses others, in the same areas of ministry that
we’re involved in? … are we happy for them should they surpass us, or excel
more than we do, in that area of ministry? … are we happy when our brothers and
sisters get promoted in the ministry? … what’s in our hearts my friend?
Are we not all doing it all for the Glory of God?
