Peter had a "Jesus"

Good day

Do you have someone in your life that holds you accountable? … Peter had someone like that in the person of Jesus Christ:

Peter had a Jesus who taught Him about God’s Kingdom, and then set an example for him to follow in.

Peter had a Jesus that would encourage him to spend time in prayer. (Luke 22:45, 46)

Peter had a Jesus who could esteem him one moment – and then rebuke him the next. He had someone he could receive both praise and correction from. (Matthew 16:13-23)

Peter had a Jesus who was praying for him that his faith wouldn’t fail (Luke 22:31)

Peter had a Jesus who would take him back after he made a mistake, after he had disowned Him, after he failed Him and slipped up spiritually (Matthew 26:69-75 and John 21:15-19)

Do you have such a person in your life my friend? … Do you have someone that you’re accountable to, besides God?

Because this same Peter is the one who stands up and preaches to the Jews on the day of Pentecost and witnesses 3000 get saved! (Acts 1) … This same Peter is the one who receives the vision to preach to the Gentiles (Acts 10) … this same Peter is the one who administers healing to the crippled beggar (Acts 3) … this same Peter whom God used to perform many miraculous sings and wonders amongst the people; that they even brought the sick into the streets and laid them on beds and mats just so that Peter’s shadow could at least pass them by (Acts 5)

If Peter never had a “Jesus” in his life; would he have become the man he became?

Even though Peter had the Holy Spirit and all of what he accomplished was done through the Holy Spirit -> Before that he had a Jesus - who was with him, who taught him, who encouraged him, who corrected him, who loved him … to the point where, when his “Jesus” wasn’t around anymore, he could stand on his own two feet and be equipped and prepared enough to be used by God the way he was.

Do you have a “Jesus” in your life my friend?

… (And are you being a “Jesus” to someone else?)
