Where does your strength come from?

Good day

As I was reading my bible last week Friday, the below scripture stood out for me; and while in prayer this week, I believe God wants me to share the following with you:

Ephesians 6:10

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.

That God is commanding you to Be Strong!

He’s not giving you an option. He’s not asking you to choose whether you want to be or not. No, He’s commanding you to Be Strong!

The reason is because He says His strength is available for you if only you’d stop trying to solve things and handle things in your own ability and strength. He says you must be strong in Him and in the power of His might! … He’s not asking you to be strong on your own –He says you must draw your strength from Him! … He’s got all the strength you need; but it comes when you relinquish the hold you have on your situation and the effort you’re putting into it out of your own …and He’s not asked you to do so … because it goes against His word and desires!

The bible says in 1 Peter 5:7 that we must cast our cares upon Him for He cares for us – well, if we still holding onto our cares and concerns, then it means we’re denying Him the opportunity to be God in our lives – denying Him the opportunity to showcase His love towards us – denying Him the opportunity to receive Glory!

Therefore God commands you to Be Strong in Him!

When we try and solve things in our own abilities and strength, it’s as though saying we have more faith in ourselves than in Him. It’s as though saying that God cannot solve this thing and therefore I need to do it myself …we might not be thinking this at the time but isn’t this what is indirectly implied … “that God, I know you love me, and I know you can do all things and have the power to solve anything! (see Jeremiah 32:27) …but I think I best handle this situation on my own; I think I better rely upon my own wisdom to get the job done; I think I’m strong enough to do it on my own”

God is calling you to be strong my friend – He knows what you’re faced with and what you’re going through. He’s not surprised by it, nor is He put off by it in any way, but what He is requiring of you is that you draw your strength from Him. There’s a reason He says in His word we must be strong in the power of His might –it’s because He knows that in our own ability we cannot.

…And your strength my friend is found in the presence of God

He knows what you’re going through, but while you’re trusting Him to come through for you, you need to be Strong –and He’s got all the strength you need! … so come to Him in faith and believe Him for it!

Stay Strong in the love of God my friend!
