Hi everyone
As I was praying earlier today, the Holy Spirit reminded me of the below
truth that I thought I’d share with you:
Romans 15:
4 For whatever was thus
written in former days was written for our instruction, that by [our
steadfast and patient] endurance and the encouragement [drawn] from the
Scriptures we might hold fast to and cherish hope.
Paul said that they would find encouragement by what was written in the
scriptures from times past…therefore:
Write down, and keep in a journal, all your
past experiences with God.
All your past battles and victories.
Remember your testimonies – Remind yourself
of them.
Write down all that He’s revealed to you
while in prayer, and in His word.
Do this in order to remind
yourself of the goodness and faithfulness of God!
1 Samuel 17:
34 But David said to Saul,
“Your servant used to keep his father’s sheep, and when a lion or a bear came
and took a lamb out of the flock, 35 I went out after it and struck
it, and delivered the lamb from its mouth; and when it arose against me,
I caught it by its beard, and struck and killed it. 36 Your
servant has killed both lion and bear; and this uncircumcised Philistine will
be like one of them, seeing he has defied the armies of the living God.” 37
Moreover David said,“The Lord,
who delivered me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the bear, He will
deliver me from the hand of this Philistine.” And Saul said to David, “Go,
and the Lord be with you!”
One of the reasons David defeated Goliath was because he remembered his
past victories.
He reminded himself that the same God who had delivered him out of his
past difficulties – would be the same God to deliver him out of this new
difficulty!
That the same God who caused him to win last time – is the same God who
will cause him to win this time!
He remembered his past battles from which the Lord had delivered him and
used it as a reminder for his current battle! That if God delivered him then –
God would deliver him now!
My friend, we can learn from this lesson … that God wants us to keep a
record on all that He has done in our lives.
To remember that if God came through for you
then, He’ll come through for you now! – and He’ll always come through for you! … For He
doesn’t change! (Malachi 3:6) - He is the same yesterday, today and forever!
(Hebrews 13:8)
This will build our faith when faced with future battles
So get a journal my friend … and start writing
