Babysitting - 1

Good day

This past weekend my wife and I had to baby sit. We were watching the kiddies channels when the one child asked to watch a particular program. Then I browsed through the channels, mentioning the names of the different channels to see if they would recognise it, so as to know where this cartoon would be playing. Then one of the names caught their attention and they read the channel number off the screen out loud and asked to go upstairs to watch it on the other TV.

My wife and I were impressed by this and we both smiled out of joy for the fact that he could read the number, like it was an accomplishment for him and we were happy for that, and happy to see his progress.

Later that evening the Holy Spirit reminded me of that incident; and the following scripture was brought to my attention:

Psalm 35:27
Let them shout for joy and rejoice, who favour my vindication and want what is right for me (My righteous cause); Let them say continually, “Let the Lord be magnified, who delights and takes pleasure in the prosperity of His servant.”

We were happy for what this child accomplished, no matter how small or insignificant it may have seemed, or even if they didn't think anything of it! - it still brought us joy to see. We were delighted by it. It brought us pleasure to see this.

In the same manner, God delights and takes pleasure in the prosperity of His servant!

No matter how small or seemingly insignificant something may be, even to us - it brings God pleasure to see us succeed!

Matthew 7:7-11
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!
