Good day
I would like to share something that I believe the Holy Spirit highlighted for me recently while reading the below passage:
John 2:6-10
Now there were set there six waterpots of stone, according to the manner of purification of the Jews, containing twenty or thirty gallons apiece. Jesus said to them, “Fill the waterpots with water.” And they filled them up to the brim. And He said to them, “Draw some out now, and take it to the master of the feast.” And they took it. When the master of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and did not know where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the master of the feast called the bridegroom. And he said to him, “Every man at the beginning sets out the good wine, and when the guests have well drunk, then the inferior. You have kept the good wine until now!”
This means that the wine the master tasted was better than any he had previously tasted while at that wedding. The wine that Jesus offered was better than what the bridegroom could put together in the natural! (According to the bridegroom's earthly knowledge, resources and ability)
This tells me something about the character of Jesus; that when He is acknowledged in a situation or circumstance, that what He is able to produce is better than what we could do on our own.
His way is better!
What can be learnt here?
There are times when we second guess God's methods or His way of doing things. We often question His leading or direction on certain matters. We wonder how things would work itself out if we followed it His way. Indirectly, we're actually question whether His method/way works - we question whether His word works. We actually end up questioning His character and heart of love towards us when we hesitate to be obedient to His word.
This passage gives clear insight into the fact that when Jesus is given the freedom to do as He wills; that when He is acknowledged in a matter or given the right to follow His own method of doing things - that the outcome is always better than what could conjure up on our own.
His way is best!
Which areas of your life are you struggling to let go of; which decisions are you holding onto that you haven't given over to God to figure out, and give you direction on. Do so today my friend! For God loves you, and out of that love, He will never mislead you nor cause you any harm, for His way is always better!
