Good day
Jesus came in the likeness of a man and made Himself of no reputation (Philippians 2:5-8)
From a young age the grace of God was upon Him and He was filled with wisdom (Luke 2:40).
Then at age 12, He identifies Himself (Luke 2:49), and thereafter He continued to increase in wisdom, stature and in favour with God and man (Luke 2:52)
Here's a few things to point out:
When Jesus Christ found out who He was and what His purpose was - He had to agree to it.
When He found out who He was and what His purpose was - He basically had to lay aside all He had known, whatever desires or ambitions He may have had in the natural and come in line with what the scriptures expected of Him.
When He found out who He was - His speech changed. He identified with the scriptures and declared what the scriptures said about Him and what He would do or accomplish!
When He found out who He was - it changed His identity. He was no longer influenced by what people said, what His upbringing or surroundings may have influenced Him to believe about Himself or His future - the word determined it!
Jesus Christ founded His identity in the scriptures. This identity influenced His perspective, His speech, His conduct, His focus in life, His priorities, His purpose for getting up in the morning.
Here's the thing, because of what He has done and accomplished for us as His church, we now take on that same identity! ... and if His identity was shaped by the word of God, how much more shouldn't we allow the word of God to influence us in like manner ... for we have HIS identity! Amen!
