The Names of God - Part 1

Good day

In Ezekiel 48:35, the bible introduces one of God's attributes, Jehovah Shammah, which means, "The Lord Is There"

Shammah is an adverb that simply means there, although when it’s used in relation to time it means then. Together Jehovah Shammah means The Lord is There. God revealed this name at a time when Israel was in rebellion and in captivity. God was letting the Jews know that he had not forsaken them and that he was still there, both in their present as well as in their future.

This scripture is fulfilled in the new covenant as well when Christ said in Matthew 28:20, "I am with you always, even to the end of the age"

The encouragement we can take from this is that regardless of what we're going through, or what we're heading into, we can take comfort knowing that God is already there.

When the scripture says He is there; it also means He's there all the time, 24/7, 365 days a year, every year! ... Jehovah Shammah, and ALL that He is, is with us - ALL the time.

Amen!
