Good day
I want to share something I believe God wants to encourage you with, and that is for you to know that His love for you isn't based on your performance.
This free gift of righteousness was received by faith in Christ. We didn't do anything to earn or deserve His mercy and love towards us. It all came from Him. It was His choice. His decision to do so. And we had no part in deciding that.
If salvation was received by faith and could not be earned or received any other way, then how can we now try and earn everything else that God has made available to us through this covenant with Him?
I couldn't do anything in my own human efforts to somehow "perfect" myself in order to show God that i'm deserving of His attention and acceptance. HE MADE THE DECISION TO ACCEPT ME - not based on my human efforts, not based on my good deeds or performance! But based on His love for me that I simply received by faith.
If it took grace and faith to save us, why are we now trying to receive the rest of God's covenant promises by our good works/performances?
If it took faith to save us, it will take faith to receive everything else God has to offer us and has freely made available for us.
These are covenant blessings. One that you access by being a kingdom citizen ...
... and it's received by faith.
God has given us the assurance that He doesn't show up based on our performances. He doesn't decide to love based on our good intentions or good performances - He loves us regardless.
HE HAS CHOSEN to love us!
What comfort there is in knowing that we don't have to perform in order to be in His love, but simply just to believe and have faith in who He has chosen to be towards us.
He is calling us to believe in His love, to rest in His love, to be at peace and just simply rest in Him and in His promises of love towards us. There's nothing we can do to make Him love us more! He has already made up His mind on this matter: He has chosen to love you!
If you can think of at least one other person that might be encouraged by this message, then please forward it on to them, (as well as others) - God loves us all
