Put on your 3D glasses

Good day

I woke up yesterday morning with the following message on my heart and believe I need to share it with you:

When watching a 3D movie at the cinema, you need to have 3D glasses, otherwise the majority of the movie will remain a blur and you won't be able to see clearly without them. It enables you to see something for what it is. A clear picture. A true and accurate picture.

The word of God is like those 3D glasses. It enables us to see things for what they truly are, from His perspective, not our own. Without it, the majority of life seems like a blur.

Perspective is very important. Our perspective towards something (whether positive or negative) influences our behaviour and attitude towards that thing. If my perspective towards my country, workplace, church, etc. is a negative one, chances are i'll find myself complaining about it all the time, feeling discouraged, demotivated, hopeless, etc. I will never have a desire to apply myself to anything or try and resolve anything because my faith towards it succeeding has already grown dim ... my perspective influences my actions!

So the question is, am I viewing situations from my perspective, or from God's? (referring to His will, plans, purposes and word). In the following passages we see that Joshua, Caleb, Joseph, Paul and Jesus all had a different perspective. They believed in the will of God and took on God's perspective towards their situation. (Genesis 45:7,8 and 50:20, Numbers 13:27-30, Acts 20:22-24, Luke 22:41-44, Hebrews 12:2)

We must expect a positive outcome. We must have hope concerning our tomorrow. God wants us to approach things from a position of victory! ... but if our perspective towards something is a negative one, then we'll have no faith in it at all.

So what have we been saying about the police, about our economy, racism, churches, pastors, church leadership, our parents, family, spouse, children, education system, etc. Have we taken the time to put on our "3D glasses" (Have we spent time in God's word, in prayer, in church, reading books and watching teachings on His word, etc.) to help us see things for what they truly are (Romans 12:2), so that we may obtain God's perspective towards the situations we may be faced with and begin to believe, have hope, find encouragement and speak words of faith (God's promises) over those situations?!

We need to stop believing and saying what we have (according to how the media has influenced us and what friends or family have told us, and how our past may have influenced us) - and start believing and saying what God says about a matter!!!

So get those glass on, change your perspective by finding out what God says about you and the situation you may be faced with, HAVE HOPE and believe that God is able to do all that He said He would do!

I'd also like to encourage you to take the time to forward this email to at least one other person that you believe would be encouraged by it. Many times there are others who are just waiting for a message that deals with a situation they may find themselves in; Who need that bit of hope and encouragement concerning their relationship with God ... this could be one of those times!)
