Most definitely!
Good day
It's true that what we believe about ourselves is important because it affects our self-confidence. This influences our actions/habits and can affect what we can and cannot accomplish in life... And for this particular message, what I believe God is directing me to share with you, is that your importance has been predetermined.
What this means is that before you could have any thoughts or opinions about yourself, God had already determined the truth about who you are and what you're able to achieve through Him!
God, our Creator. The Creator of life. The One who set this universe into motion. The One who calls us His Father. The One who gave His life for us in the person of Jesus Christ... This God - has already spoken over us and made His thoughts and intentions known to us!
This means that my relevance or my importance shouldn't have to be defined by my outlook or opinion, nor any negative thoughts I may have about myself or what others may say about me - but rather that, before I was even born, my relevance and importance was already decided and defined by what my Creator has declared concerning me!
He has already declared us as His own (1 Peter 2:9)
He Has already determined to be there for us (Joshua 1:9)
To be by our side (Hebrews 13:5, Matthew 28:20)
To help us (Psalm 46:1, Isaiah 41:10)
To guide us (Proverbs 3:5,6)
To provide for us (Matthew 6:25-34, Philippians 4:19)
To heal us (Psalm 103:1-5, Matthew 8:16,17)
To protect us (Psalm 91)
To comfort us (2 Corinthians 1:3,4)
To come to our rescue (Proverbs 18:10)
Psalms 18:2-3
The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; My God, my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised; So shall I be saved from my enemies.
... By this, God has made known to us just how important we truly are!
If we were not important to Him, then He wouldn't have gone through the effort of making Himself known to us: Consider that the Bible was written thousands of years ago, when men recorded the truths and accounts instructed to them to do so by the guidance of the Holy Spirit (2 Peter 1:20,21, 2 Timothy 3:16,17).
To consider the suffering, the beatings, the imprisonment and the death they faced so that the truth of God's word could be shared amongst so many people over the years (2 Corinthians 6:3-5, 1 Corinthians 4:9-13, 2 Corinthians 11:23-27) ... To the point where many hundreds of years later, through much persecution, the Bible could eventually be printed - and where today, we can now access it freely online, on our phones or laptops or purchase it in a shop; where we can freely gather for church services to hear God's word and get to speak to others about Him ... Where we get to easily receive and read messages like these
Why would He go through all of that if we weren't important to Him ... If we didn't mean something to Him
God made a way for all of this to come to pass so that one day, you and I could get to know Him! ...To know and experience His love! ... Because He wants us to!
He went through all of this, not to mention sending Jesus Christ, so that we might know how important we are to Him
Wow
Before you, or anyone else, ever formed an opinion about yourself - God already determined your worth, value and importance!
Please don't keep this message to yourself but share it with someone else who may need to hear this encouragement as well.
Amen
