Should I give in the Offering? - 1 - (20-01-2012)

Hi everyone

In Exodus 33:7-9 we find that Moses went into the tabernacle of meeting and there the Lord talked with Moses. Then in chapter 34 God gave Moses instructions – and in verses 27,28 God tells him to write down what He instructed.

(I would encourage you to always write down what the Lord tells you from your time spent with Him, or what you learnt at church - if God told Moses to write down the things He told him, and I believe all that God says is equally important, then I’m certain He’d want us to write down the things He tells us as well)

Then in chapter 35:4, Moses addresses the children of Israel and tells them what God instructed them to do – and verse 5 goes on to read as follows: Take from among you an offering to the Lord. Whoever is of a willing heart, let him bring (those of a willing heart must bring, also stated in verses 22 and 29 – as well as 2 Corinthians 9:7) it as an offering to the Lord: gold, silver, and bronze.

So here we see Moses being in the Tabernacle, where God speaks to him and gave him instructions/commandments. Then Moses tells the children of Israel what it is God commanded of them : and one of those things was to bring an offering to the Lord … now for which purpose was the offering to be taken up?
