You see my friend, as the body of Jesus Christ, we are here on this Earth to carry out God's plans, purposes and desires. We cannot do it without Him! (John 15:4, Philippians 4:13) It would be foolish to even do so. Yet there may be some believers and ministries that fail to consult and acknowledge God (Proverbs 3:5-6) when it comes to building His church.
They rely on their own limited human understanding instead of relying upon God's wisdom on how to go about doing things!
Jesus said HE is building His church, so if I want to know what's required in order to assist Him, I need to find out from Him.
Consider the following example:
We are all bricklayers and Jesus Christ is the architect. He knows the design of the building. He knows what's needed and where's it's needed; who is needed and where they're needed. He knows every detail and has the entire blueprint on how to go about constructing the building until it reaches its completion...now imagine the bricklayer coming along and just building wherever he thinks is best. It could ruin the entire structure! That beautifully designed building will now have to re-looked at all because the worker didn't, either take the time to find out what's next in the building phase, or he just ignored the instructions he was given...and many times my friend, this is how we go about building God's church.
Therefore we need to always follow the architects design and blueprint on how to go about building; always referring back to the architect, always checking in with Him if everything is going according to plan.
For it's in the head where the brain dwells and where decisions are made! It's in the head where the eyes dwell for the purpose of seeing where one is going! It's in the head where the ears dwells for the purpose of hearing and receiving information, and it's the tongue that relays this information ... The body follows where the head directs it!
Your body cannot dictate to you where it wants to go, nor can it instruct you or lead you, etc - the body just follows along with whatever the head decides. This is what God wants from us. To merely follow Him and obey His instructions.
Psalm 127:1
Unless the Lord builds the house, They labor in vain who build it; Unless the Lord guards the city, The watchman stays awake in vain
So let's approach each day as a new day to be used by Him.
To know that unlike building in the natural, that we're building for the supernatural, that we're building with eternity in mind..so the work/building project doesn't stand still for bad weather or short supplies or no wages, etc! Because we're building with eternal purposes and eternal consequences at stake!
So let us arise to the task at hand and be a master builder in the hands of our great creator and designer! Knowing full well that He is the head of the church (body), and that as the body, we are to merely follow the heads instructions - for He knows the plans and the end result, and He's asking us to trust Him and to follow His guidance on how to get the job done...always knowing that unless the Lord builds the house, we labour in vain who build it.
